Focus On NPL Club: Harbour View Football Club.
The RBSC focuses on one of Jamaica’s most successful clubs - HARBOUR VIEW Football club. The story of Harbour View Football Club is one that chronicles a tale of what is possible as it relates to local football development and points to exciting possibilities for the future if commitment to ideals hold fast. This is a story about application of initiative, innovation, commitment, dedicated service and hard work lasting for more than thirty (30) years by the people of the Harbour View community. On the 4 th of March 1974, a group of enthusiastic thoughtful citizens concerned about the welfare of the young in the East St. Andrew middle class community gathered in the Harbour View Primary School. They decided that they would use their common love of football, ‘the beautiful game’, to exercise the minds and bodies of the community’s children in the building of character, the appreciation of cooperative team effort and some life skills. All children in the community were entitled to partake in these organized actives. Football was the passion for many in the Harbour View community. It was decided that the club’s first name would be a simple “Harbour View”. The first action taken was the election of officers for the newly created entity bearing the name of the community.

http://www.corpsstories.com/JacksonKeith.htm
Home KEITH JACKSON, Broadcaster It was 1952 when Keith Jackson broadcast, on radio, his first college football game Stanford at Washington State. Stanford won 14-13 when the Cougar holder fumbled the snap for the extra point. And 48 seasons later, Keith Jackson is still having fun at the college football stadium and still sees Walter Mitty on occasional Saturdays. When ABC Sports acquired the broadcast rights for NCAA football in 1966, Jackson was a member of the announcing corps; and going into the first season of the new century he is still a member of the ABC corps, though his work is primarily the Pac-10 Conference. Keith says, "Travel was the devil that convinced" him that "ONE TIME ZONE equaled longevity." He is not convinced 72 years has anything to do with it. At the close of 1999, Keith Jackson was awarded the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Gold Medal, its highest honor; and named to the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, the first broadcaster accorded these distinguished honors. Another first for Jackson was the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award from the American Football Coaches Association; and he was named National Sportscaster of the Year five successive times by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. He is in the NSSA Hall of Fame, The National Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame and the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Jackson's career highlights include 10 Winter and Summer Olympics, in which he covered the two greatest gold medal winners in the history of the Olympic Games. In 1972, Mark Spitz won seven gold medals in swimming and in 1980, Eric Heiden won five individual gold medals in speedskating. He has worked eleven World Series and League Championship Series in baseball; NBA basketball in the '60s and '70s; auto racing, including NASCAR, USAC, and Formula One, including seven Grand Prix of Monaco races. Jackson has covered many different kinds of events for "ABC's Wide World of Sports," with travels to 31 different countries. In 1958, while at KOMO Radio and Television in Seattle, he did the first live sports broadcast from the Soviet Union to the United States.

Football Former Jet McKenzie impressive in first camp with Giants By DAVID PORTER The Associated Press ALBANY, N.Y. - When the Jets and Giants line up against each other during Saturday's joint practice, Kareem McKenzie will see a lot of familiar faces across the line of scrimmage. The Giants signed the hulking tackle as an unrestricted free agent in the offseason after he had spent the previous four seasons helping the Jets running attack become one of the most potent in the National Football League. Now, the Giants hope he can be the bulwark on an offensive line that had its share of difficulties moving the ball at key times in 2004. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 327 pounds, McKenzie has won raves during training camp for his strength and quickness. At least one Giants player was already sold on McKenzie before the Penn State graduate ever put on the blue and white.

By CANDY GREEN
Taking the track first in Saturday night’s racing action at Swainsboro Raceway was the Road Warrior division. WILLIS MCKENZIE Taking the lead at the drop of the green was Luke Scott followed by David Beasley. Scott led the field flag to flag but after post race inspection Scott was disqualified by track officials. David Beasley held second until the final lap when Brad Corley had made his way from the rear to make the pass for second. Corley added another win to his season record. After only his second race ever Jared Peebles took home a very impressive second position. After falling back from second, David Beasley took third. Rounding out the top five in fourth and fifth position was Darwin Tapley and Billy Grassmyer. GROUNDBREAKING AT DEA ATHLETIC FACILITY Following the Road Warrior division was the Mini Stock class. Sitting on the pole after winning theirheat races was Terry Cox and Mark Driggers. Once the green flag flew, it was Terry Cox leading the way with Driggers falling into second. After only four laps, Driggers night ended depressingly as he pulled into the pits giving the second position to Brad McKenzie.

Match Report
Wright took Chester back into League Two as Conference champions last year but honours on the day went to opposite number Keith Curle, the man who only moved into the City hot seat for the final game of last season. Parading five of his seven summer signings, Posh boss Wright looked to have injected fresh impetus into his side with a second half switch from five at the back to a 4-4-2 formation following the introduction of livewire teenage winger Ryan Semple. But as the game opened up it was Chester who broke out of defence with Ben Davies sweeping over a right-wing cross that caused all sorts of problems in the Posh defence before one-time Morecambe marksman Drummond confidently hooked the ball past a poorly protected Tyler. Posh chased the game, bringing on another youngster in Jamie Day, and former Norwich front man Danny Crowe looked set to equalise after beating McKenzie, only to see the shot cleared from the goal line.
