In an effort to fill the needs of the squad, fifth-year head football coach Sean McDonnell and his staff have addressed needs at nearly all positions on the football team, but especially the offensive and defensive lines. McDonnell has also signed one player from the Granite State in 6-2, 220-pound TE/LB Sean Lynch, a resident of Salem who played at Salem High School and then went on to compete at Bridgton Academy. "This class with its caliber of athlete will add greater depth to our football program here a the University of New Hampshire said McDonnell. A lot of the guys I've spoken with say you're the biggest hitter in the NFL. How's that feel?
[Laughs] That's good! When I started playing safety, Ronnie Lott told me that was half the battle; let them know this is your part of the field, and they're entering at their own risk.
How do you feel about the way you left Tampa Bay?
Ah, you know, mixed emotions. Denver's a great place where people love football, and it's a team that's got a chance to win a championship. So that's great. But, sure, I thought I had a unique opportunity to play my whole career in one spot, and that's one thing I wish could change about this league. Free agency is a beautiful thing for players, but it's hard for fans to have loyalty for teams when the rosters are constantly overhauled.
There's not even a little bit of resentment there?
Oh yeah! A new GM came into Tampa, a guy who had been there a month, and he's telling me I can't stay in a city that's become my home, and it's tough. But you move on.

Maj. Bill Lynch Position: Dir. of Football Operations Now beginning his third season on the Army football staff, Maj. Bill Lynch occupies one of the most important roles within the program. As the team's director of football operations, Lynch serves as head coach Bobby Ross' "Military Coordinator." While all teams have an offensive and defensive coordinator, the uniqueness of the cadet-athlete experience at West Point requires additional coordination in areas such as summer military training, Army Physical Fitness Tests and academic scheduling. A 1989 USMA graduate, Lynch is emminently familiar with the Academy. Now in his third tour of duty as an officer at West Point, he returned to the Academy in 2003 after graduating from the Army's Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

Along with the fine, NFL disciplinarian Gene Washington sent a letter reprimanding Lynch for the hit and informing him that officials for the playoff rematch at Indianapolis on Jan. 9 have been alerted to keep an eye on Lynch and to eject him if warranted. Scott Connot June 9, 2005 By Neil Reynolds NFL Europe Growing up in the tiny midwestern town of Spencer, Nebraska, a young Scott Connot would sit in front of his television and watch games from around the NFL each Sunday. He would cheer along with the rest of America when big plays were made, but what really excited him and made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up were the bone-jarring hits delivered by San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott. Fast forward to his college years at South Dakota State and you would find Connot spending his Sundays watching Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety John Lynch leave his hard-hitting mark on the rest of the NFL.
