The Coaching Carousel took quite a spin last season. No fewer than 24 coaches were replaced last year, thanks to retirements, resignations and firings. So while everyone is taking a look forward, we've decided to look in the other direction, to see what has happened to each of these former head coaches.

i The out of sync Eagles lose opener 14-10 to the Falcons.
by Jules Pilla Sept 13th, 2005 The game itself was not exciting at all. Unless you call yelling at the TV exciting. And there was a lot of that. The Eagles just never got on track. Their drives were erratic. Often stopped by a fumble , an interception or a missed field goal. The team didn't seem to expect to be in a dog fight with the Falcons, who did come to play. The Falcons were ready. The Eagles were not. Some game stats... Donovan went 24-45 with 1 TD, 1 interception and 2 lost fumbles. Far from the type of game we have grown to expect. TO put up decent numbers with 7 catches for 112 yds. No TD's. No small talk with Donovan. Westbrook had the only TD reception and 47 yds rushing. Oh, did I mention that the Eagles had no running game. None , zip, nada. And kicker David Akers , as reliable as kickers come, missed his first 2 field goals. What the bleep was that?

But if you happened to read 25-year-old David Amsden’s Salon.com article “I Dream of Vargas Girls,” perhaps you’d think our fascination with flesh was a thing of the past. Amsden argues that the ready availability of sex – on the Internet, in glossy magazines, and even on MTV – leaves nothing to the imagination, but everything to be desired in terms of titillation. He claims to suffer from “a kind of erotic impotence, a jaded boredom that comes with having seen it all without having to do anything to get it,” and wonders if our society has reached “a zenith of sexual exposure.” Nudity, he laments, has lost its allure. But standing on Bourbon Street, dizzy from the glow of neon signs promising LIVE! NUDE! GIRLS!, you would have to imagine that, at least for some, the allure is not lost. It’s alive and well, and its heart is pounding in its chest, its fingers reaching for its wallet.

Wyatt, Hollis among top 20 paid in state By Megan Lewis

    The Herald Staff
Arkansas Business magazine ranked three Arkansas State University employees among the highest paid in the state of Arkansas.
In the Jan. 17 issue, ASU President Les Wyatt ranked 13th; Joe Hollis, head football coach, was 17th; and Dickey Nutt, men's head basketball coach, was 28th.
Wyatt's salary, as reported by Arkansas Business, was $162,804. However, the "ASU 1999-2000 Operating Budget" book shows Wyatt's salary to be $168,979.
J.W. Mason, associate vice president for human resources, confirmed the increased salary recorded in the budget book was correct. The amount reported by Arkansas Business was the salary from the 1998-99 fiscal year; the 3.7 percent increase for this fiscal year could improve Wyatt's rank on the list.
Hollis, the second highest paid ASU employee, has a salary of $115,500, an increase of 2.5 percent from last year. Arkansas Business also reported Hollis received an additional $42,000 in supplemental income.
According to Arkansas Business, the figures for supplemental income came from the amount reported to the athletic department including extra money or benefits from foundations, corporations and apparel promotions.
