even putting him into a game?
Several folks on the Score said they watched George in practice...he had the
seen in a few years.
But Alas...we cut George without puttting him on the field, for even one series.
Makes you question the coaching or possibly the direction from JA.
While other teams field one or two proven QBs, here we sit...
I love the Bears, but someplace they never learned about the importance of a QB in the overall success of a team. tampabearsfan Mar 15 2005, 09:03 AM All of the people that bump this thread are just allowing their ignorance of football to show. zabavka Mar 15 2005, 09:52 AM

Search for another speaker Jeff Fisher Category: Coaches, Football, Christian Speakers In brief Jeff Fisher is entering his seventh season as head coach of the Tennessee Titans and his second as Executive Vice President. Last season, Fisher became only the fifth coach in NFL history to lead his team to consecutive 13-win seasons, joining Mike Ditka (Chicago Bears, 1985-86), George Seifert (San Francisco, 1989-90), Marv Levy (Buffalo Bills, 1990-91) and Mike Holmgren (Green Bay Packers, 1996-97). Fee Range:
Last season, Jeff Fisher also became the franchise's winningest coach with 61 victories, surpassing Bum Phillips who accounted for 59 wins in his six seasons with the then-Houston Oilers. Lastly, Fisher became the fourth youngest NFL coach (since 1960) to reach the 50 regular season win plateau at the age of 42. Only Don Shula (37), John Madden (38) and Bill Cowher (39) have reached the 50-win mark at a younger age.
Building on the success the Titans had during the 1999 season would be tough to accomplish, but Jeff Fisher followed the team's first AFC championship in 1999 with an AFC Central crown and the league's best record in 2000. It was the first time in franchise history that the Titans/Oilers have owned the NFL's best record (13-3) and only the third time the club has won the AFC Central.

IN MEMORIAM: GEORGE PLIMPTON
September 26, 2003
Writer and editor George Plimpton died last night at age 76. Jeffrey Brown looks at his career with Michael Dirda, senior editor of The Washington Post’s Book World.
JEFFREY BROWN: George Plimpton boxed with Archie Moore, pitched to Willie Mayes, and joined the circus, and he did all that, and much more, as a writer. He also helped found and edited for decades a leading literary journal, "The Paris Review." Plimpton was called a central figure in American letters when he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters last year. He died last night at age 76. Here to tell us more about him is Michael Dirda, senior editor of the "Washington Post" Book World and author of the new memoir, "An Open Book." Michael Dirda, welcome. MICHAEL DIRDA: Thank you. Good to be here. JEFFREY BROWN: The George Plimpton who many Americans know is the author of "Paper Lion" and other books, in which he thrust himself out into the playing fields as a sort of average guy and then wrote about it. Tell us about that. MICHAEL DIRDA: Well, he did that in the great age of new journalism, when reporters were suddenly discovering that they could be part of the story themselves. He took that even farther than a lot of people like Tom Wolfe, although perhaps not extravagantly as, say, Hunter Thompson. He did represent an average guy on the playing field, although his image was, as we came to know him from television, rather patrician, he had a very plumy, kind of prep school New England accent.
