WILL BRETT FAVRE STILL LEAD THE PACK AFTER 2005?
As the 2005 - 2006 National Football League (NFL) Season draws near, the Green Bay Packers are gearing up for yet another football warfare on the entire 100-yard football field. However, what worries them is what comes next as Brett Favre flirts with retirement once the upcoming season is over. So there it was, the leader of the pack, Brett Favre, on a crossroads, even before he gets a chance to throw his first pass in what could be his very last season. ''I haven't made any decisions'', Brett Favre said regarding if he'll come back after 2005. ''Each year has been different, especially the past three years with all the things going on'', he added. ''I haven't been totally committed because of some of the outside things that I've had to deal with'', the Packers QB said. ''Although they've been big distractions for me and my family, this is still my job and I want to be totally, 100 percent committed to this team. I don't know if I've been that the past two years'', the soft-spoken leader of the pack said. After two years of dealing with so many problems, on and off the 100-yard football field, Brett Favre said he is looking forward to this 2005 - 2006 NFL Season where football can be his primary focus.

Packers make wise move by giving Brett Favre another weapon

My award for the most logical move of the draft is the fact that the Packers drafted TE Bubba Franks in the first round. Normally I am not a big fan of drafting tight ends in Round One. They tend to bust out a lot, and it's not as much of an impact position as many others. That said, I really liked the choice. Most people thought that the defensive line was a bigger area of need for Green Bay than tight end, and they are probably right. Nonetheless, the best way for the Packers to improve this next season has nothing to do with the defensive line. The surest way for the Packers to get better in 2000 is for QB Brett Favre to return to his MVP form of old. Favre's passer rating last season was a very mortal 74.7. His 23 interceptions were alarming. It's not as though Favre became a bad quarterback overnight. In fact, if you were to take every quarterback in the league and surround them with exactly the same players, Favre and Peyton Manning would rate as the top guns in the NFL in my book. (My apologies to sensational Kurt Warner who doesn't get the call because of all the talent surrounding him in St. Louis and the fact that he has only done it for one season. If Warner repeats last season's shockingly out-of-this-world numbers, I'll make him king of the hill.)
