Joe Montana with John Elway Sept 22,2001
Denver,CO- Goodbye to Mile High Stadium!
Elway vs Montana John Elway connected with Mark Jackson for the game winning 2 point conversion with under 2 minutes remaining to defeat a cast of former NFL greats led by Joe Montana 34-33 in 9Man Flag Football Action. The game was the largest attended flag football game, with 34,000 paid tickets..(The 1999 Margarita Bowl in San Diego with Doug Flutie drew 3,000 fans).
Down 27-26, with 2:13 remaining in the game, Elway hit, hall of famer RB-Floyd Little on a 15 yard pass to go up 32-27. The Broncos elected to go for two, and Elway Connected with Mark Jackson(one of the three amigos from 1987-1989) which turned out to be the game winner. The NFL legends scored two plays latter when former Seattle Seahawk QB Dave Krieg connected with Sanjay Beach on a 60 yard pass, where he shaked and baked into the endzone. With the score now 34-33 and 1:36 seconds remaining, the NFL Legends went for two and the win! The Legends where in the wishbone offense and a sweep to Roger Craig could have given them the win but a mishandled snap prevailed the Bronco win. On the Last play John Elway's son Jack(12 years Old) handed off to RB Floyd Little to end the game.

EVENT DIRECTORS Roger Craig, Former San Francisco 49er Standout and NFL Record Holder, Set to Compete in LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon From press release September 22, 2004 CHICAGO (September 22, 2004) Roger Craig, former San Francisco 49er running back with three Super Bowl rings, will run The 2004 LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon. Craig, who recently turned 44, retired as a 49er from the NFL more than 10 years ago after his 1993 season with the Minnesota Vikings. On Saturday, June 5, Craig made his 26.2-mile debut as he joined 16,500 other runners at the seventh annual Suzuki Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego. Craig had an impressive professional football career. He joined the NFL as a second-round draft pick in 1983 out of the University of Nebraska. A fundamental component of the San Francisco offense, Craig became the first player in history to gain more than 1,000 yards receiving and more than 1,000 yards rushing in a single season. Craig was voted the NFL Most Valuable Player in 1988 and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection. He helped the 49ers capture three Super Bowls and led them to the playoffs in each of his eight seasons with the team.

Monster Park Events The San Francisco 49ers won big in the 2005 draft when they made quarterback Alex Smith the number one pick overall. But unlike the 49ers’ glory days, when they would have traded for the top pick, the team earned this choice pick with an NFL-worst 2-14 record. Even so, a team this prominent in the NFL has a multitude of rabid fans, so if you want tickets to see the 49ers in 2005, you had better get moving. CLICK HERE TO FIND
San Francisco 49ers Tickets
Few NFL teams can boast the individual stars and strong teams that made the 49ers a dominant power in the 1980s and 1990s. While on their way to capturing five Super Bowl titles, the 49ers fielded such players as running back Roger Craig, wide receiver Jerry Rice, defensive end Fred Dean, and quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young. Earlier stars include Hall of Fame members quarterback Y. A. Tittle, and running backs Joe "The Jet" Perry and Hugh McElhenny. Founded in 1946, the 49ers began as part of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), reaching the AAFC championship game in 1949. After the AAFC folded in 1949, the 49ers joined the NFL. San Francisco returned to the postseason in 1957 under head coach Frankie Albert. Related Links
