Speaking of D, in the last six games, the Ravens defense has only allowed five touchdowns while at the same time scoring four touchdowns themselves on returns. That is simply awesome. That's right, it's now two men vs. two machines as I will continue to do my picks each and every week, and now you also get the benefit of seeing the additional predictions of a man who was down in the trenches for 18 seasons. And Lo-Brown comes out swinging, predicting Arizona to upset the Seahawks, the Jets over New England, and Tennessee over Minnesota. Now that's what I call a debut. Personally, I think the Jets are extremely overrated. I know it's only the fourth time in NFL history where two undefeated teams with at least 5 wins apiece are facing off, but the Jets should've lost to both the Bills and the 49ers, two teams that have combined for two wins this season. Meanwhile, the Patriots have already beaten the Colts and the Seahawks. They will lose this season, but I'm looking at next week's game against the upstart Steelers as the closer game than this week against the Jets. Last week, man and machine all tied, going 9-5. Once again, I picked the Chiefs to win, and once again, they let me down. There's no way I'm taking them against the Falcons, so you know what that means. If history repeats itself, chalk it down as a Chiefs victory.

News Archives - September 6, 2004 Mid-Season Awards by Herd Offensive Rookie of the Year This really is a two man race between QB Kenny Stabler and RB Eddie Ray. Stabler, the highly touted rookie out of Alabama, hasn't disappointed anyone in his first season and is on his way to what will end up being one the best rookie seasons by a QB ever. He's completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 1874 yards and 10 scores with only 2 picks. His QB rating of 93.4 ranks 4th in the league right now and he has his Kansas City team in the hunt for a division title. This is Stabler's award to lose at this point. The player offering the biggest challenge to Stabler is Eddie Ray from St. Louis. The 6'1" 208lb. RB is a North/South runner with sprinter speed and has come out of nowhere to dominate in this league. Despite playing for a 2-6 team, the rookie has rushed for 871 yards (2nd in the League) and 5 Tds, while adding 22 catches for 189 yards and a pair of scores. The one area Ray must work on is holding on to the football, although most coaches would overlook his league leading 5 fumbles considering the production. Also worth noting is WR George Seymour. Buffalo's rookie has stepped up as the favorite target of Johnny Unitas and helps lead one of the most prolific passing attacks in the league. He's 7th in the league with 42 catches, 4th with 764 yards, and tied for 2nd with 7 TD catches.
