1776 Report One fan's illustrated recollection of the last performance of 1776 with brent spiner. http://www.geocities.com/eileenjahna/76report.html
Extractions: (3/1/98) I was in Manhattan this last weekend and saw the last performance of "1776" with Brent Spiner as John Adams. It was a wonderful show. With Brent, Pat Hingle and Linda Emond leaving the show ... it seemed that the entire cast gave a special effort to make this last show a memorable event. Brent really blew me away with his performance. Since the last performance I attended in September, the actors have added many layers of depth to their performances. One new thing I saw ... and I'm not sure if it was just added to this performance or was something that developed over the run of the play ... was when the courier came in the last time just before the signing of the declaration, paused in the middle of the room, locked eyes with Adams for a moment, they nodded to each other, and the courier left. The other actors froze when this happened and it seemed as if the Adams and the courier were acknowledging what each other had sacrificed for their countrymen. At the part where John and Abbie speak to and sing to each other for the last time in the play ... as the stage turned blocking Linda Emond from the audience's view, her voice could be heard singing out the last note of farewell for several seconds after the stage stopped turning ... Brent paused on the stage until the audience finished applauding.
Welcome To The International Save Data Campaign! A chance to voice your opposition to brent spiner's plan to leave Star Trek by killing off Data, and to let Paramount know we won't pay to see Data die. http://www.angelfire.com/tn/SaveData/index.html
Extractions: Nemesis was the biggest GOTCHA in the history of Star Trek! It was 'The Most Toys' to the Nth degree! In light of new information received from a very perceptive acquaintance, I saw for myself the one clue everyone apparently missed. When they put B-4 together, they made a big deal of showing us an auxiliary input port, a flashing blue light just below his hairline on the back of his neck. In the scene in Captain Picard's office at the very end of the movie, they again use the exact same camera angle on the android sitting at his desk. Or at least, that's his physical body. The question that needs to be answered is, 'is he in it?' His behavior in that scene suggests two possible answers. The first is that he is suffering some serious trauma due to being in B-4's head as he basically operated him by some sort of link while he blew up the Reman ship. There's the possibility that he somehow now thinks he is B-4, due to some guilt about having sent his 'brother' to his death. The second answer is too horrible to even imagine, that somehow he managed to switch bodies with B-4, giving him a chance at a life while he went to the Reman ship in B-4's body and died there. That would be the cruelest twist of all, being left with the body of the android we love and knowing someone, some thing, else now inhabits it.
