Interview With Robert Young Q What about steven schub, who plays Danny? A. steve was working as a doormanat the Four Seasons Hotel when he came in for his interview with Kimberly http://www.sonyclassics.com/caught/misc/interview.html
Extractions: In the late sixties, Robert Brustein brought Michael Roemer and me to the Yale drama school. We had just made "Nothing but a Man," and Brustein wanted to bring aspiring playwrights and writers into contact with people who had actually written a screenplay and made a movie. Eddie Pomerantz was one of the students in our class on a fellowship. We became friends and he gave me the galleys to his novel Into It , which I thought was fascinating. So Mike Hausman, who worked with me then and is part of the production team of "Caught," and I, optioned the book. I remember, we took out an ad in the New York Times "Soon to be a Major Motion Picture." That was 23 years ago. I laugh now at how naive we were...and probably still are. I found the story exciting and original. Our need to love and be loved is where we are most vulnerable and human, so when an outsider displaces a husband and then a son in a mother-father-son relationship, you have primal fireworks. The characters in "Caught" get trapped by their conflicting feelings sexual desire, loyalty and jealousy. I wanted to take the audience into these conflicting, elemental emotions and identify with the humanness of each of the characters...and have the audience see themselves.

If This Were Funnier, It Would Be A Good Title. There s nothing too remarkable here about steve schub talking to David Mayer . Here s steve schub talking to Jacob. Yes, Jacob is wearing a Kippah. http://www.braindead.org/boffo/RandCamp2002/RandCampLA6.html
Extractions: This Other Time, at Rand Camp Chapter The Seventh: Ethics? I don't even know ics! And now for random odds and ends, that didn't fit in anywhere else. Here some joker behind me is giving me bunny ears. That, or I'm starting to sprout horns. I mean, after all, Objectivists are Satanists, right? I'm sure Jack Chick would agree. I like this picture because right before I took it, I said "Everyone do something silly," and everyone did. From left to right, that's Ted, Kirez, Penny, Scott Raymond, Scott, Kate, Ken, and Farsam. I'm the guy whose flash isn't working. There's nothing too remarkable here about Steve Schub talking to David Mayer. Except, look a little closer... That monkey is glowing! What the hell! It's an evil monkey! Everyone run for your life! Augh! Here's Steve Schub talking to Jacob. Yes, Jacob is wearing a Kippah. Yes, he's an orthodox Jew who crashed an Objectivist conference. You got a problem with that? I was going to have a whole section here where I'd take Steve and Jacob's pictures, then split them up and have some whole Forum 3000esque mock argument between them. But then I lost interest, and figured it wouldn't be that funny. But if you want to, you can think of your own hilarious argument between Steve, the 35 year old Ska band fronting Objectivist who looks like he's 25, and Jacob, the 25 year old Orthodox Jewish law student who's uninterested in practicing law and looks like he's 40. You have my permission.

TheMovieBoy Review: Mascara (1999) Cast Ione Skye, Lumi Cavazos, Amanda de Cadenet, steve Jones, steve schub, TaraSubkoff, is about to get married to her beau, Donnie (steve schub). http://www.themovieboy.com/reviews/m/99_mascara.htm
Extractions: Three 30-year-old friends' search for their rightful place in life is the subject of director Linda Kandel's independent drama, "Mascara," an intelligently-written, if somewhat familiar, right-of-passage film. Movies about a group of young women and their exploits concerning love, career, and identity are a dime a dozen, and even if "Mascara" isn't one of the very best of the genre, it is also far from one of the worst, due to the apt way in which the characters are dealt with and developed. Ione Skye was such a startlingly bright presence in 1989's "Say Anything," but since then hasn't had much success, aside from her turn in 1992's indie, "Gas, Food Lodging." Skye returns with a reckoning here, as her character of Rebecca also has to deal with the discovery from her aunt (Karen Black) that her father is not dead, like she had been told, but merely wanted nothing to do with her when he found out her mother was pregnant. In one of the best scenes in the film, Rebecca pays a visit to her dad, who works as an auto mechanic. He takes her for a test drive in a used car, but she decides not to reveal her identity. Skye is so notably assured and winning here that it is unfortunate this film was released earlier this summer from Phaedra Cinema, but through ill-fated circumstances, was not reviewed in any of the NY newspapers and therefore opened and closed with the blink of an eye. Be sure to catch the film when it comes to video probably later this year.

At the time, I was impressed with Taysts fiercely original funky reggae slant on their original material. The lads even have a CD out on Earshot Records titled Seasoned to Perfection. So, last Saturday night I visited FuBar again to catch Taysts showcase show. This power trio hails from St. Augustine and was formed three years ago with Tyson Eavenson on vocals and guitar, Chris Perrella on bass, and Ryan Murray on drums. Together this amalgam of experienced musicians have carved out an original sound in the overcrowded field of modern rock purveyors. The trios clever use of reggae fused with funk defines their sound.
