King Of Queens - Exklusiv Interview Mit Kevin Jame larry romano got the opportunity to have a bigger part on another show so we larry romano bekam die Möglichkeit eine große Rolle in einer anderen Serie http://www.kingofqueens.tv/kingofqueens,635273,6.html
Extractions: KevinJames: I came home for the summer during college and, out of boredom I tried out for a small community theater play. I ended up getting the part and loving the reaction I got from a live audience. I was hooked. After a couple other plays I joined an improv group at a comedy club, with my brother. A few months later I gave stand up comedy a shot. All of this lead to me eventually getting a development deal and then the show. When I signed on to do the show it was extremely important to me that I would also be able to write on the show.

March-April 1997 - Spencer Rifles This was not exactly technically correct, according to larry romano. Incidentally, larry romano s rifles and carbines work best with a .660 diameter rim http://www.civilwarguns.com/9703b.html
Extractions: A few months ago I wrote about the impressive new Spencer rifle and carbine reproductions of L. Romano Rifle Company (551 Stewart's Corners Road, Pennellville, NY 13132. Tel: 315-695-2066). At that time I noted that the Romano Spencers had actions "machined from steel forgings." This was not exactly technically correct, according to Larry Romano. Larry tells me that his actions are machined from a "billet of steel," as are his upper and lower breech blocks. Since I last wrote, L. Romano has expanded its product line. The company now offers blank cartridges, .56-.50 reloading dies at $113.40, shell holders at $15, 310 grain flat nosed bullet molds at $89.95, center fire breech blocks for conversion of original guns at $204.50, a carbine cartridge box with a wood insert drilled to hold Spencer cartridges at $79 and a carbine sling with buckle and swivel for $62. Larry is also negotiating with suppliers to produce loaded .56-50 center fire ammunition and unloaded cartridge cases. Although .56-.50 brass is not especially difficult to produce from .50-70 brass (except for a klutz like me), doing so is a time consuming chore, involving cutting the brass to the proper length, turning doen the cartridge rim and putting a radius on it to insure proper feeding from the Spencer magazine into the gun's chamber. The Spencer action is a simple affair, and, aside from length, cartridge case rim diameter and configuration are the most critical dimensions to proper feeding in a Spencer original or reproduction.
Extractions: As an increasing variety of custom and factory made reproduction Civil War era arms appear on the market, the present becomes more and more of a golden age for the Civil War era shooter. Some of these guns can be downright esoteric, and none more so in my book than Larry Romanos recent recreation of the so-called Maynard/Perry Confederate carbine. Larrys Spencer and Maynard rifles and carbines are well known and prized by those in the Civil War shooting community lucky enough to own them. One of the great regrets of my shooting career (such as it is) was mailing back the First Model Maynard Larry loaned me for testing, and which I reviewed in these pages some time back. At the North-South Skirmish Association (N-SSA) 2000 Fall National, however, Larry personally delivered my new Second Model Maynard, which has, in its initial tests, proved as accurate as its predecessor. As we have grown to expect from Larrys shop, his Maynard/Perry, aka Keen/Walker is superbly machined and finished. The action, with its sliding gas seal breech, is a fascinating piece of technical ingenuity, and the gun drew a good deal of attention and more than a few oohs and aahs at the 69th New York Pavilion when we laid it out for some photos. As of this date, Larry does not plan a production model of the Maynard/Perry, but I have it on good authority that a number of people who saw the prototype at the Nationals are prodding him to at least make a limited run of these guns. If youre interested in something really exotic to shoot and consider yourself persuasive, get in touch with Larry at Romano Rifle Company. (551 Stewart's Corners Road, Pennellville, NY 13132. GUN MAKING larry romano. Stephen Olin Master Engraver. Some success engraving knives as a hobby in the early 80s encouraged Stephen to enroll in the Robert E. Maki http://www.romanorifle.com/GUN_MAKING/gun_making.html
Extractions: Harold Soltau: Engraver The term stockmaker can be applied to many men, but only a very few belong to that select group that includes Harold (Mark) Soltau. While Mark is an outstanding engraver in his own right, his practiced touch , attention to detail, and depth of gunsmithing knowledge make him a true master stockmaker. He is as good as there ever has been, and Im proud and fortunate to have him as a dependable participant in the art of building our high quality American made rifles. Larry Romano Harold Soltau , master stockmaker is the core of our custom shop at the L. Romano Rifle Company. We believe the mastery of our artisans makes our custom shop second to none in quality and raises the finish and decoration of L. Roman Rifle Company firearms to a true art form. Mr. Soltau has fond memories as a child watching his father carve an Ithaca SxS buttstock from a walnut stock blank. At seventeen, after a lively all day rabbit hunt, a favorite Model 97 Winchester slipped from his hand a broken butt stock was the result. Mr. Soltau reminisces after much consultation from Dad on how to drill the bolt hole, a M97 buttstock came to be by my own hand. His enrapture of his grandfathers newly purchased grade IV Bar cinched Mr. Soltaus love of stockmaking and engraving. Marveling at his fathers ability to hand engrave his name on his carpenters tools Mr. Soltau knew that his destiny was stockmaking and engraving. Instilled in the young worker by his father was the ethic of always making the next cut better than the last. From this ethic learned in childhood, an artist in the purist sense of the word has emerged in the man.
