This movie is absoultely wonderful! It features a great cast and a perplexing story. If you've never seen this movie, I think it's Vincent's best! Laura wearing the hat that Shelby "approves of". Also in 1944, Vincent starred with Gregory Peck in the critically acclaimed "Keys of the Kingdom." In 1945, Vincent and Gene Tierney were again co-stars in "Leave Her to Heaven", in which Vincent played Russell Quinton. In 1952, he starred along with Jane Russell in "The Las Vegas Story". The next year, he made the movie that he is truly remembered for: "The House of Wax" Vincent became known as the horror movie king after this 3-d thriller.     Extractions: I've seen "The Masque of the Red Death" a couple of times, most recently about two months ago. Regrettably, it was dubbed into French that time, thus losing Price's greatest asset, his menacingly camp voice. I've also recently read the Poe story and was unsurprised to discover that the movie has virtually nothing in common with it, apart from the climactic scene, painted equally vividly in prose and film. The story's most striking image, that of the ebony clock in the Black Room whose otherworldly chimes once an hour stop musicians and revellers alike in their tracks, did not make it into the film; but plenty of spurious heterosexuality and a necessarily nastified Prince Prospero did. I liked it. I'll concur with the enthusiasm for "Theatre of Blood". It's over ten years since I've seen this film, yet I still vividly remember enjoying it with immense adolescent glee. The scene with Robert Morley stays in my mind, as indeed do all scenes with Robert Morley.
