According to the recordings, Monroe had already spoken to legendary method acting coach LEE STRASBERG and Olivier about her plans. Miner's transcript reads: "I'll take a year of day and night study at Shakespeare with Lee Strasberg. I'll pay him to work only with me. He said I could do Shakespeare. I'll make him prove it. That will give me the basics Olivier wanted. Then I'll go to Olivier for the help he promised. "Then I'll produce and act in the Marilyn Monroe Shakespeare Film Festival."

Dies alles sind nur einige Fragen, mit denen sich nicht nur ich, sondern auch alle anderen Fans weltweit beschäftigen - und für die wir nicht immer wirklich eine Antwort finden. Trotz allem war Marilyn in erster Linie aber Norma Jeane. Die Menschen neigen oft dazu, nur ihr Marilyn-Monroe-Image zu sehen und vergessen dabei, dass Marilyn eben auch nur ein Mensch war. Ich denke, dass sie noch zu Lebzeiten schon unter einem enormen Druck stand (so, wie viele andere Hollywoodstars heute auch), dem sie teilweise einfach nicht gerecht werden konnte.

Extractions: The Gallery Stories About The Artist Lenore McGovern is a Toronto based artist whose work is represented in private collections throughout Ontario and the Western Provinces of Canada. A story teller at heart, her recent works succeed for her personally when she portrays her subject as a fully realized protagonist in an on-going story. Because her commissioned portraits involve an in-depth, two-way dialogue, she calls them "visual biographies. " The symbolic and associative elements that form the narrative are discovered through a creative collaboration with her subject. While the artist, as biographer, imposes her perceptions on the life of her subject, the subject's participation is a contained and telling presence in the final image. This website contains a gallery of McGovern's portraiture as well as some published articles. The image shown here is entitled "This Man, This Life", and is one of 24 portraits currently on display. Most of the portraits are accompanied by "the artist's statement". For this particular portrait the statement reads: "His music and his mischief will continue. My uncle was a man so full of life that death, when it came suddenly, left family and community in a state of disbelief. The painting came out of sketches and photographs of him playing the pipe organ as he had for twenty-five years. I have captured the deep spirituality that was part of his mystique."
