The second week of March and we have snow on the ground. It certainly isn't unheard of at this time of year, but I would consider it unusual. March is usually the month when kids start wearing shorts to school. That trend typically starts after one or two unseasonably warm days in February ... maybe 70 degrees or so. (We were cheated out of them this year.) At the very least, folks begin to ditch their winter coats by now, regardless of how cold it is in the morning. That's how it's supposed to work ... cold in the morning and mild in the afternoon. Wind? Okay, we can deal with that. Just let it be in the 50s or 60s and sunny when it blows.

Votes Never Jumped Day One Other Thoughts: There was this show on in the early 1980's, I think it was called "California Dreaming" and it starred the brother of Kristie McNichol. The whole hook of the show was girls in bikinis, the beach, fast cars and a really big 4-wheel drive truck that everyone drove around in. It was so bad it was beautiful. The show listed as California Fever but as the other person mentioned in the quick description it was originally titled "California Dreamin'" the show starred Jimmy Mc Nichol brother of Kristy, he was in a band with some other surfer type dudes. The question is what was the song that they sang in their first episode? I wish someone knew the name because it was a great cheesy pop song, and it kicked ass over Brady Bunch songs like "Sunshine Day." I really believe the show never jumped the shark it didn't have time. The show was never given time to do anything... succeed or fail. I think the network jumped on this one, as they have in so many by not giving time to a show before pulling it. I believe the song mentioned above was "Don't Bring Me Down" by ELO. Thank god there are other people who remember this show besides me!

Her given name is Christine Ann McNichol. Her mother, Carollyne McNichol, happened to take small acting roles now and then. When she went on calls, she carried her three children with her.
