Extractions: nmh-workers Top All Lists Date Advanced ... Thread from [ Jerry Peek Permanent Link Original I don't think you'd want to run slocal from your sendmail.cf file because slocal throws away error messages from the commands it runs. Even slocal -verbose will only tell you if a command it runs (like rcvpack) "wins" or "loses". Also, when the actions in .maildelivery fail and slocal falls back on its other defaults, you won't hear much about what's happening. I'm no sendmail guru, but one problem you might have running rcvpack from sendmail.cf is that rcvpack wants to read an MH profile file. You'd have to spoof rcvpack to ignore the user's MH profile (by setting the MH envariable, maybe). Also, rcvpack adds a "Delivery-Date:" header to messages. You could hack rcvpack.c to stop that, though. Jerry Peek, O'Reilly & Associates, jerry(_at_)ora(_dot_)com, (617)354-5800 More with this subject... June 29-July 6, 1998 Geraldine Ferraro, Trent Lott, Natasha Richardson, stephen Hanson, Betty Williams, Norman mailer, Ronnie Spector, Rick Rubin and more . . . http://newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/people/columns/intelligencer/2902/
Extractions: By Deborah Mitchell Beth Landman A GLASS CEILING Is Geraldine Ferraro living in a very well-insured glass house? She recently attacked Senator Alfonse D'Amato for serving "the interests of the insurance companies" with oddly enough his bill to ban "drive-through" mastectomies. The proposal hardly marks D'Amato as an insurance ally; but Ferraro argues that D'Amato proposed it to block rival legislation that would have been even tougher on insurance companies. She held a press conference and reported that D'Amato's campaign had collected $210,000 from the industry since 1993. But Ferraro didn't mention that the largest nonprofit insurer in New York State, Group Health Incorporated (GHI), paid her old law firm $279,442 to lobby Congress for a special tax break. In 1993, Ferraro told The American Lawyer that her lobbying for Group Health consisted of "providing my former colleagues in the House with a new source of information" and "helping a client have an input into legislation." But her campaign manager, David Eichenbaum, insists that Ferraro "was not a lobbyist" for the law firm, from which she resigned when they took on Libya as a client. "Gerry doesn't take stands on issues based on the position of former clients, and unlike Al D'Amato she is fighting for the passage of a patient bill of rights," he insists. Says a spokeswoman for D'Amato: "Al D'Amato was the first to sponsor one of the most comprehensive HMO-reform bills, and is championing the most important breast-cancer legislation in congress today."

Extractions: The Mailers and Long Days Journey Into Night in Provincetown Reviewed by Yvonne Shafer Long Day's Journey Into Night Town Hall, Provincetown , Massachusetts , August 15, 2003. The forthcoming ONeill Conference in 2005 in Provincetown may seem a long way off, but there is excitement in the lovely seaside town already. And, as usual, ONeill is getting attention by both Provincetowners and visitors from elsewhere. Outstanding events will take place in the next year and recently a really wonderful event drew an elated crowd to the Town Hall. This was a dramatic reading of Long Days Journey Into Night by Norman Mailer and members of his family on August 15, 2003. To many ONeillians used to thinking of Mailer in terms of being a novelist, this appearance as James Tyrone may come as quite a surprise. In fact, Mailer has been involved in readings in Provincetown before, and his wife, Norris Church Mailer has only recently resigned her long-time post as artistic director of the Provincetown Repertory Theatre in order to devote her time to writing her second novel. In the reading, she played Marycoincidentally she is 54, appropriately for Mary Tyrones age. Edmund was played by Norris and Norman s son, John Buffalo Mailer. He, too, has largely been involved in theatre. He began at the age of twelve when he performed in two plays for the Actors Studio Playwright/Directors Unit. Since then he was a founding member of Back House Productions. Jamie Tyrone was played by Stephen Mailer, Normans son. His acting career has been split between regional theatres, New York City productions, television and film. In 1993 he created the role of Lucas Brickman in Neil Simons
A Fan's Page For Johnny Depp-Acting Now stephen mailer, who played Wade Walker s main rival (a Square), talked about how he and Johnny sort of had this thing going on during filming, http://www.johnnydeppfan.com/Contest/crybabyreview.htm
Extractions: Review by Deppraved at Johnnydeppfan.com This new DVD release of Cry Baby coincided with the release of Johnny Depp's newest film, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Cry Baby had formerly only been available on VHS or through its two PG-rated versions shown frequently on cable TV. Having seen Cry Baby (the PG-version) many times in the past, it was most interesting to see the Special Features on the new DVD. I was happy to see that most of the cast, including Johnny Depp, and many of the major crew members (John Waters' usual crew that he has used in his films for many years) participated in adding comments and interesting and funny stories to the Special Features. This provided great insight into the making of the film. The cast and crew interviews in the Special Features were more recently filmed (possibly in late 2004) and put together in a montage sort of way as each one reminisced about their experiences on set and with each other. John Waters described growing up in Baltimore where there actually were two groups of teenagers known as the Squares and the Drapes, who were his inspirations for Cry Baby. He idolized the Drapes, although he wasn't one of them. He refers to himself as a "Drape sympathizer" and recalls thinking the kid who lived across the street from him, a Drape, was cool and John wished he could be just like him. Cry Baby was filmed in Waters' hometown of Baltimore and also premiered there when it opened. Cast rehearsals were held in Waters' house in Baltimore.

Bookslut | An Interview With Steve Almond It makes sense if it s stephen King or Tom Clancy, but why not just find the books I m not going to talk about mailer. I told you before the interview, http://www.bookslut.com/features/2003_08_000396.php
Extractions: @import "/c/style.css"; @import "/c/style.css"; Steve Almond's short story collection My Life in Heavy Metal has provoked strong reactions in reviewers. Many were put off by the strong sexual content of the stories. One insisted in her review that the female ejaculation described in the first story was anatomically impossible. For his next book, Almond delves into the world of candy, hopefully with less controversial results. He spoke with me on the phone from Boston. I read on your website that your next book is a diatribe about candy. It's not just a diatribe. It's a totally weird book, it's about my relationship to candy, it's about the emotional presence that candy, specifically candy bars, plays in people's lives, it's about late model capitalism and the consolidation of the candy industry, and it's about the history of the United States. It's completely, as you can hear, out of its mind. I was wondering about the word "diatribe."
