Narcotics officer Shiro Tanaka (Sho Kosugi) has just busted an international drug ring in Buenos Aires with the help of his partner Ray (Richard Wiley) and friend Dick (Chip Lucia). However, Shiro's superior Sterling (Gerry Gibson) does not approve of Shiro's unorthodox methods. When Shiro and Ray return to Phoenix, Shiro has the chance to spend some time with his girlfriend, Jennifer (Robin Evans). However, Ray has received a tip and checks out a warehouse. He finds there are drugs inside coffee beans. He leaves a message to Shiro but he is caught by a thug. The man in charge of the drug dealing is Havlock (Lewis Van Bergen), a ruthless dealer who will stop at nothing to make the deal successful. Upon hearing the message, Shiro goes to the warehouse. He is besieged by Havlock's men, whom he defeats using his guns and quick wits. However, when he finds Ray, it is too late. Ray, heavily tortured by Havlock, tells Shiro who the man who did it to him was and dies. Shiro vows revenge, but before doing so, Havlock locks him in. The drug lord sets the warehouse on fire and the building explodes. However, Shiro was hiding in a metal container of sand and survived the explosion. High Impact: The Ninja In Films the host of a series of kung fu movies titled sho kosugi s Ninja Theater. If the word Ninja was heard in the 1980 s, the name sho kosugi would be heard http://www.megspace.com/entertainment/highimpact/articles/ninjainfilm.html
Extractions: NINJA - A member of a class of 14th-century Japanese mercenary agents who were trained in the martial arts and hired for covert operations such as assassination and sabotage. [Japanese nin , to endure + ja , person] For over 40 years, the ancient art that is ninjitsu and the people behind them, the ninja, have made their way from ancient times to the big screen. It all began in 1962 when the film Shinobi no mono (Dir. Satsuo Yamamoto, 1962) was released. It was the first film of what I would like to call THe Ninja Legacy. The film proved to be so popular that the movie would be referenced in later films, most notably the James Bond film You Only Live Twice (Dir. Lewis Gilbert, 1967). A series of seven films followed, with the final installment, Shinsho: Shinobi no mono released in 1966. All the films starred popular Japanese actor Raizo Ichikawa as two characters. In the first three films, he was Goemon Ishikawa the after the third installment, he was the character of Saizo. Sadly, however, Raizo Ichikawa died in 1969 at the age of 37 from cancer. The Ninja did not really have a mainstream following in the 1970's, but all that changed come 1981. Mike Stone, a ninjitsu expert and martial arts champion, came up with a story called
Return Of The Ninja Variety says sho kosugi, star of Enter the Ninja, Revenge of the sho kosugi is singlehandedly responsible for turning me on to the martial arts. http://www.themovieblog.com/archives/2005/03/return_of_the_ninja.html
Extractions: March 31, 2005 Oh baby! As a kid I LOVED the old school ninja films! For me, the best of them all was the first one I ever saw: Revenge of the Ninja starring Sho Kosugi Kosugi starred in no less than 6 North American Ninja films in the 80's. He was THE MAN. So imagine my total glee when I cam across this little bit of news on FilmFodder: Variety says Sho Kosugi, star of "Enter the Ninja," "Revenge of the Ninja," "Ninja III: The Domination," and a slew of other sorta-classics, will reprise his ninja role in "The Return of the Ninja." Kosugi will play a ninja master who travels to the U.S. to find an "American heir." Oh sweet heavens I'm a happy man. Time for me to start making ninja throwing stars out of ripped up pop cans again. Posted by John Campea at March 31, 2005 05:41 PM were those the Ninja films in the mid 80's that Cannon Pictures always released 3 months before or after an Chuck Norris Film? That was a real film company.....no females worked at that place! They high on Action and very little script. Posted by: jason at March 31, 2005 09:28 PM
Teleport City Movies No one had heard of sho kosugi, but when the ninja craze hit American shores, In the case of sho kosugi, he is a former ninja (I didn t know there were http://www.teleport-city.com/movies/reviews/r-s/revenge_of_the_ninja.html
Extractions: Sometimes, real life events contribute to the effectiveness of an on-screen story. A tremendous act of synchronicity results in the alignment of elements, each one falling into place so perfectly that it could never be orchestrated by anything but nature itself. Such is the case with the mini-flood of ninja movies during the 1980s, and the life of the star of most of the movies a man named Sho Kosugi. No one had heard of Sho Kosugi, but when the ninja craze hit American shores, he suddenly stepped out of the shadows and into the limelight, bringing to our attention the secret tactics and lives of the mysterious warriors known as ninja. When the craze finally died out, Sho Kosugi vanished back into the shadows without a trace. Some said he went into hiding, pursued by an ancient sect of ninja who wanted to kill him for divulging their secrets to the world. Some say that to this very day he is kicked back and living the good life in some secret mansion alongside Bruce Lee, also in hiding from those who would seek to murder him.
Teleport City Movies Anyway, I don t know if sho kosugi ever made a guest appearance at Grand This movie has everything you have come to expect from a sho kosugi ninja movie http://www.teleport-city.com/movies/reviews/o-q/pray_for_death.html
Extractions: Just when you thought America's cities were getting safer (as our suburbs and rural towns get more dangerous), you leave the house to walk down to the corner bodego and catch sight of a bunch of cops fighting with a ninja. It's more than likely that at some point the ninja throws down an eggshell grenade and disappears into a puff of red smoke. Or maybe you stumble upon a couple of ninjas all fighting each other in the middle of 2nd Avenue. It may sound weird to our late 1990s ears, but way back in the 1980s, this is how things were. America's cities were infested with ninjas, usually wearing the traditional black ninja suit, but sometimes also wearing shiny gold, red, green, or purple outfits. The urban ninja is not above a fashion statement, after all. Statistics estimate that in the early- to mid-1980s, for every thousand cockroaches in a city, there were also five ninjas. Since every American city has a cockroach population numbering in the hundreds of millions, you can bet that's quite a few ninjas along for the ride. With so many ninjas doing backflips down Broadway or scaling our gleaming skyscrapers, it was only a matter of time before they started organizing and demanding recognition and certain rights that the rest of us take for granted. The urban ninja movement was championed by one man. One man who mysteriously appeared when the ninjas became a noticeable force. One man who, like his brothers and sisters in ninjitsu, disappeared just as mysteriously as he appeared. One man who, from time to time, could be seen hosting his own martial arts workout show complete with a team of skimpily-clad "ninjettes."

Extractions: Some white guy thinks he's a Ninja. And lo, the American Ninja craze is launched. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun watching such a bad movie. Enter the Ninja is perfect fodder for the now defunct Mystery Science Theater 3000 TV show. But you don't need Mike and the 'bots for this one it's too easy to do it yourself. No doubt about it, this is a great party film. And it is really, really terrible. Cole decides to travel from there to the Phillipines to meet an old friend. "I won't stay for long," he says, "I like to keep moving." He's like the Incredible Hulk The Ninja Years. He arrives in Manila only to find his old marine chum Frank (Alex Courtney), who looks like Art Garfunkle but sounds like Charlton Heston. These aren't his only problems, it turns out Frank is being harassed by the locals into selling his property, and its driving him to drink. Oh, yes, and he's married to an all-eighties woman (Susan George) in tight blue jeans and knotted-up button-down shirt, but he's completely impotent. And he likes to watch cock fights, the psychological implications of which I do not wish to imagine.
