Extractions: T he year 2003 opened on a somewhat pessimistic note, with talk of a crisis in film finance and rumors that Korea's two biggest film companies would merge (a development that was later called off). Creatively too, the first few months of the year provided few titles to get excited about. However beginning in April, a string of very good films mixed in with the very bad ultimately turned 2003 into one of Korean cinema's best years yet, from both an artistic and a commercial perspective. One of the most pleasant surprises of 2003 was that local audiences showed strong support of distinctive, challenging filmmakers at the top of their form. Bong Joon-ho's critically-acclaimed second film Memories of Murder led the pack with over five million admissions ($26m gross), but other auteur filmmakers also spent considerable time at the top of the box-office charts, from Kim Jee-woon ( A Tale of Two Sisters ) and E J-yong ( Untold Scandal ) to Im Sang-soo ( A Good Lawyer's Wife ) and Park Chan-wook ( Old Boy ). Although a couple brilliant efforts by new and established directors like Jang Jun-hwan (
[KFCC] Love Review And of course with another cute korean girl (ko SoYoung) playing the opposite role, how could I resist? The film does have that likable nature that movies http://www.kfccinema.com/reviews/drama/love/love.html
Extractions: Story: A marathon runner goes to LA to live with his brother and an adopted sister he never met. He feels an attraction towards her, but she can't seem to stand him and just ignores him at will. While he admires her from afar, a team-mate of his finds him in LA and begs for his return to Korea. His story unfolds before the brother and adopted sister's very eyes. And at that moment, she begins to respect him and the feeling gradually becomes mutual. Review: I remember the first time I ever liked a girl. We talked on the phone constantly and we could never, or at least I couldn't, say good night or "Hey, I'll see you later." I remember how I would lie to her when she would ask me if I was doing anything important when I was actually taking a big fat dump. It was called "Puppy Love;" a type of love that wasn't love, but it felt just as good. This nostalgic innocence manifested itself after a viewing of a little understated Korean movie called "Love."
