The woman is Gilla Lloyd Mellinger, their great granddaughter and my great aunt. He was born 26 Dec. 1763 in Chester County, PA and died 15 Apr. 1857 in Grainger County, TN. She was born 8 Jan. 1768 in Orange Count, NC and died 28 Apr. 1856 in Grainger County, TN. They were married 4 Mar. 1787 in Orange County, NC. The marriage bonds from Orange County, NC list their names as Thomas Loyd and Jane M. Cully. They had some ten children, all born in Caswell county, NC. They move to Grainger County, TN about 1819. Thomas shows up in Grainger County Census Records as Thomas Loyd. In the 1850 TN cesus he lists Delaware as his place of birth but we don't know if he meant the state of the county in PA.
