Fans of the hit American sitcom Third Rock From The Sun will immediately recognize him as the actor who plays Tommy Solomon on the show. Third Rock tells the tale of the Solomons, a group of space aliens on a secret mission to Earth. The crew's High commander, played by veteran film actor John Lithgow, gets a job teaching physics at a local university, and the other crew members pretend to be his family. Tommy, who was an elder on his home planet, somehow winds up with the body of a human teenager. Like many teens, Tommy is a great deal smarter than every adult human, but, because he is a teenager, he has to pay attention to his teachers in high school and experience strange human customs like "dating". In an early series episode, friends ask the Solomons what ethnic group they belong to. Tommy and the family try to figure out what they can tell the silly humans. (Telling humans that they are space aliens and the leader of their planet is called "The Big Giant Head" is naturally out of the question.) Finally, after briefly trying a variety of nationalities, they ask their landlady what she thinks they are. She says, "I thought you were Jewish, because your last name is Solomon." The whole "family" is delighted with the idea. John Lithgow closes the episode by asking the female crew member, "this boy you are dating, is he Jewish?"
