There he was, in swimming trunks, romping around in the sand and having heart to heart conversations with bikini clad women on an Italian reality show called (Island of the Famous). Vat was he doing there? mature baited bated breath. And arrive he did. I was the first person in line. My parents gently pushed me forward. Kabir picked me up, gave me a kiss on the cheek, and put me on his shoulders. So it was a bit of suprise to see Kabir 19 years later, and pop up on prime time TV in Italy, of all places. But as it turns out, Kabir is not an unfamiliar figure in that part of the world. The young Kabir had been a heart throb for Italian ladeez, largely in part for his role in the 1976 Italian mini-series Sandokan, in which he played a Malaysian pirate: Just as Sean Connery is considered to be the quintessential James Bond, so Kabir Bedi is considered to be the ultimate Sandokan.
