Big Bill, A CurtainUp Review I saw this AR Gurney biodrama about tennis legend Bill Tilden (1893-1953) at William Tatem Tilden II was very much an upper middle class Protestant. http://www.curtainup.com/bigbill.html
Extractions: (Photo: T. Charles Erickson) I saw this A.R. Gurney bio-drama about tennis legend Bill Tilden (1893-1953) at the Williamstown Theatre Festival last summer and found it eminently watchable, though it seemed to me that it might stand some tweaking to deepen the central character before transferring to New York. Now that it's transferred to the Mitzi Newhouse, it's still watchable, though I could detect no tweaking. While the Mitzi Newhouse Theater is larger than Williamstown's Nikos Stage, it has the same configuration and John Lee Beatty's terrific grassy set still works beautifully for the time hopping story telling. Mark Lamos once again directs and with the exception of several minor changes, the outstanding Williamstown cast is back and, if anything, even better than before.

The Physics and Technology of Tennis Ron Waite Book from USRSA Release date: 01 April, 2004 I play tennis twice a week. Not very well. But Im a minor fanatic, and even light rain will not dampen my spirits. I watch all the great tennis players and imagine that maybe I could play like them. Of course simply upgrading my racket would definitely improve my play! I started with a wooden racket. It was heavy and clumsy, and it made the ball go all over the place. Then came the steel racket, which Jimmy Connors used in the late 1960s, winning Wimbledon with it.
