HOOVER'S CEMETERY Hoover's Cemetery, known also a Mount Hope, and Athens Cemetery, is on the north side of SR-14, about three-tenths of a mile east of 650E - a few hundred feet east of the town of Athens, Henry Township, Fulton County, Indiana. A sign at the entrance reads "Hoover Cemetery, 1891." Land for this cemetery was donated by Henry Hoover and William Rannells. William Rannells and his wife Susan were originally from Virginia, but removed to Ohio where they remained for some time before moving on to settle east of Athens, between Rochester and Akron, in Fulton Co., Ind. They brought with them a young slave girl, Fannie Rose, who died in 1855. She was buried in the Rannells family burial ground which was later made a part of Hoover's cemetery.

Among them, the requests as a speech act have drawn the attention of researchers due to its prevalence in business writing. In this study approximately 230 documents of internal correspondence (memos) from two Turkish companies written both in Turkish and English have been analysed from a politeness perspective. Text Worlds in Raymond Carver Text World Theory, proposed and developed by Paul Werth (1994, 1995a, 1995b, 1997 and 1999), is a cognitive and pragmatic theory of reading. It deals with the whole text and its surrounding context and it is fundamentally 'experiential' i.e. it deals with real language, real situation and real people. The basic structure of Text world theory is that it consists of three layers: discourse world, text world, and sub-world. This paper is an attempt to establish a comprehensive analysis for Raymond Carver's short story What Do You Do In San Francisco?
