"In the insurance industry there is always room for opportunity. This isn't like toothpaste. The insurance business has not reached an optimal level. It can do better, it can be better, and it can be faster but the mindset has to change." Sills, the founder and former chief executive officer of Executive Risk (now a subsidiary of The Chubb Corp.), told the recent annual meeting of the Target Markets Program Administrators Association in Tempe, Ariz.

During a panel at the recent annual meeting of the Target Markets Program Administrators Association, in Tempe, Ariz., representatives from ACE Westchester Specialty, Zurich Programs, GE Insurance Solutions and Darwin Professional Underwriters defined their appetite for entertaining new programs. Gaffney said that his company "is open for business" and hopes to double its current $250 million in program business within the next five years.

Soderbergh will have creative control over the films, which will be produced in high-definition format through 2929's HDNet Films. The first film, "Bubble," a murder mystery set in a small Ohio town, is currently in production. Soderbergh's credits include "Traffic" and "Erin Brockovich." Sills and Burnett at the Met: That was the name of a TV special that once joined Beverly Sills and Carol Burnett on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera - an unlikely pairing of a singer talking and a comedian singing that resulted in a friendship lasting three decades. Last week, the two stars were together again, this time to raise funds for multiple sclerosis, a chronic disease of the nervous system that afflicts Sills's 45-year-old daughter, Meredith (Muffy) Greenough. Burnett presented a Volunteer of the Year award to Sills, who offers her time to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
