Moore William Moore was born in Ulster Ireland, and came as one of 9 brothers (John, 21 July 1957, Asheville, NC, Roy Harmon Radford (son of Harmon Woodrow http://obcgs.com/moore.htm
Extractions: submitted by Martha June Lamb William Moore was born in Ulster Ireland, and came as one of 9 brothers (John, Thomas, Andrew, Alexander, David, Charles, James, Jason) through Philadelphia settling on Borden's Grant in Orange Co., Va. about 1739, according to records taken by Waddell Chalkley. The Muster Militia Roles of 1742 list all but Charles, Jason, and James. It is also said that a younger brother and sister followed later with their mother. A search of records through the Genealogical Society of Ulster in 1965, requested by a descendent Homer Clark, proved negative for locating any evidence of the family there. It is said that the Moore's were of Scotch-Irish extraction and were all Presbyterian. During the 16th century they were forced to leave England to escape religious persecution. As the Moore brothers scattered through the new land, it is thought that William migrated to Rowan Co., N.C. about 1746. It is not known just when Wm. Moore married his first wife Ann Cathy (daughter of George Cathy), nor exactly when she died, but there were 6 children born to them - three sons and three daughters, the last birthdate being 1782.
