Cemetery Removals - Cannonsville, Delaware Co., NY Thanks also to Edward J. Stanton, ACE Manager, Office of Claims, (PO Box D, ROLA DUMOND, HERMAN 18381910 DUMOND, Edward G. FATHER GRANTON WALTON, http://www.dcnyhistory.org/can.html
Extractions: Cannonsville Reservoir The construction of the Cannonsville Reservoir in Delaware County, NY was started in 1955 and completed in 1965. Most of the cemetery removals took place in the year of 1963. The following cemeteries were removed. Beers, Brewer, Cannonsville, Granton, Rock Rift, Rock Royal, and Wakeman. Unknowns were moved from Barlow and Olsen cemeteries. Many thanks go to Joel A. Miele, Sr., P.E. Commissioner, The City of New York Department of Environmental Protection , for granting permission to publish this data regarding these removals and reinterments. Thanks also to Edward J. Stanton, A.C.E. Manager, Office of Claims, (P.O. Box D, Downsville, NY 13755) who was responsible for this compilation, and who provided us the disk with which to work. You will need to scroll horizontally across the page, as I have formatted with nine columns in order to keep data for each record together. Since the party interested in the removal is listed along with relationship of grave occupant, these records are extremely valuable for genealogical research. Since this page was established on January 30, I have added three more columns - 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Interested Parties. Scroll to the end of record to see if occupant surname you are interested in has further interested parties. Joyce Riedinger, January 30, 1997 - Delaware County NY - Genealogy and History Site

Extractions: Delaware County, NY Genealogy and History Site transcribed by Les and Dorothy Howland, California please wait while 243K loads The following records are courtesy of the Roxbury Library Associations History Room . Hard Copies of such records are available for viewing and duplication during normal library hours. This compilation is from the notebooks of Amy Gavette and was done in the 1960s . It was manually typed on typing paper. Needless to say some of it is faded and coping it is difficult. If dates don't match you may have to go to the Roxbury Library and see the originals, they too are starting to fade. This is not a public library, they run on support from their patrons and the History room is run by donations, and for such a small room it is packed full of information on the town of Roxbury and some Delaware county information. Vesti Snyder,Roxbury Note Joyce Riedinger There are 5 columns to this database, the 5th used by only a few of the records. You will need to scroll. Also, because of the gigantic size of this database, it will be broken in many sections. The rest will be put online soon. Letters A - F
