Extractions: Barnett Cemetery is located five miles east of Elberfeld on Road 900N. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in the area with burials dating back to the early 1800's. The cemetery is comprised of land donated originally by Dave Barnett and the land later given by Jasper Greer. A newspaper article of 1960 states that the cemetery was approximately 150 years old. Available records show a four year old child, Sarah Barton, as being buried in 1833. Joshua Brammer, buried in 1855 at age 22, is the first adult listed herein. Mary (Smith) Greer, the wife of Richard, was the first to reach an elderly age of those that can be traced. She was buried here in 1858 after having reached the age of 71. There is no doubt that burials took place prior to these dates but records to substantiate them are lacking.

This large cemetery has regular care and is in good shape. This cemetery is not square, but rather oblong in the older part and more square in the newer part. The cemetery is located just north of downtown Rosemount, along South Robert Trail. It appears that many of the old burial monuments have been replaced. There are numerous large family burial monuments in the older part of this cemetery. This congregation and the burials from the congregation in Lakeville township, section 1 ( Highland Cemetery ) belong the same group. This congregation may also be related to the All Saint's Catholic Church congregation in Lakeville, Minnesota.
