Extractions: Stanstead County, Quebec Contributed by Leslie Nutbrown, Aug 05, 2005, last edited Aug 13, 2005 [ lnutbrown@videotron.ca ]. Total records = 339. The town of Barnston is located about half way between Ayers Cliff and Coaticook on Route 141. The cemetery is in town on the right side of the Baldwin Mills Road not far from the old Methodist Church which stands on the opposite side of the road. This cemetery was founded long ago and some stones date from the early 1800s. Some stones are hard to read but it is kept mowed and maintained by the Barnston Heritage Cemetery Association. There are quite a few empty areas which would indicate burials without headstones. The cemetery slopes away from the road so one has to be careful on the uneven ground. It is still used today. Susan Nutbrown and I walked and read this cemetery in June of 2005. - Leslie Nutbrown d. 20 Mar 1865, age: 35yrs
