Mahatma Gandhi , 1869-1948, Indian Statesman Ethical Business Leadership The history of economic development demonstrates that when a nationâs leaders create an ethical, trust-based society founded upon the rule of law, they are laying the foundations for long-term prosperity. Those countries that are richest in terms of GDP per capita have the lowest levels of corruption. Nations become great when their leaders are just men; they fall and fade when their just men pass away. Those who are in power set an example, good or bad, for the entire nation. Great will be the peace and prosperity of a nation when there shall arise within it a line of statesmen who, having first established themselves in a lofty integrity of character, shall direct the energies of the nation toward the culture of virtue and development of character, knowing that only through personal industry, integrity and nobility can national prosperity proceed."

Dick Robertson had a very graphic way of explaining the effects of 'no'. He said, The next time someone says 'no' to you, your right arm will not fall off, and you'll still be alive and breathing after they've said no. NO is simply a two-letter word. Period. Unfortunately, some people believe NO to be the most powerful word in the language. NAH! Wrong answer. Look at it this way; until you're able to explain your value proposition to your customer in a way that makes sense to them, you may hear 'no'. In other words, you have to continually refine your pitch until the value proposition that youre presenting is a closer fit to their perceived need. How many times have you gone back to give your own pitch to someone before they said, Yes? In the world of sales training, there is an old saying that says, Almost no one can say 'no' to you more than six times. Can you image how your life would be different if you knew that if you asked the correct question often enough, everyone would eventually say, Yes to you? Now, you do have to present something of value to them before they'll eventually say, Yes, but if youre willing to become flexible in what your offering to them, then there is every reason for you to get everything you asked for - and more. If that doesn't put a grin on your face, you need to go back and start your day all over again.

Throughout every repeated day he tried something new until he learned to change what he didnt like and create the life of his choice. At one point his co-worker told him, you cant plan a day like this, to which Phil replied, Well, you can, it just takes an awful lot of work. Phil was a rude, self-serving, grumpy man. In the movie he had a moment of clarity and decided to make some changes in his life. Its the type of moment that is available to all of us if we honestly pay attention to our situation and the thoughts that brought us to where we are. Phil decided to take advantage of what he knew about each day and create the life he wanted.
Cognitive Beahvior Management James Allen 18641912 probably stated it best when he said A man is literallywhat he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts. http://www.cognitivebehavior.com/theory/telosresponsibility_p.html
Extractions: He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how. - Nietzsche Victor Frankl [1959] suggests that the search for meaning is the primary motivation in life and not a secondary rationalization of instinctual drives. People, he suggests, need something for the sake of which to live. "Teleology" is the term for this belief that events are pulled by a purpose toward a definite end. Aristotle formulated the first and original meaning for telos: "that for the sake of which". Telos means aim, end, or fulfillment. Hillman [1994] states that telos is opposite to cause as we generally think of causes today. Causality asks, "Who started it?" It imagines events pushed from behind by the past. Teleology asks, "What's the point? What's the purpose?" It conceives events aimed toward a goal. Teleology gives a logic to life. Telos or purpose does not usually appear as a clearly framed goal, but more likely as a troubling, unclear urge coupled with a sense of unquestionable importance. Telos gives a limited, specific reason for the sake of which we perform our actions. It causes a person to imagine every action to be purposeful, but it does not state an overriding purpose to action in general; that would be teleology or finalism. The idea of telos gives value to what happens by regarding each occurrence as having purpose. Telos gives events value.

Jumpingpound Mountain is a beautiful green peak that is easy to hike up. When you have little time or just need to get out for a view and there's too much snow further west, this peak is a great option. Road access is via Powderface Trail and is seasonal. Call the Alberta Government toll free at 310-0000 (I don't know if this works outside of Alberta) and ask for the Kananaskis Office. Nothing out of the ordinary happened on this particular day. That's good though. I think the day fit the mountain. Gentle and green is the summit, and so when I got there, I had a nice break and drank in the expansive views of forest and valley. Content to just sit back, eat lunch and identify peaks, I had little reason to think, just relax and enjoy the peace.

It is suggestive rather than explanatory, its object being to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception of the truth that - They themselves are makers of themselves by virtue of the thoughts which they choose and encourage; that mind is the master-weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance, and that, as they may have hitherto woven in ignorance and pain they may now weave in enlightenment and happiness.
