Extractions: The T3000 Thermocycler represents the technological advancement of one of the most successful thermocyclers in Biometras history. Following the approved triple block concept, the new T3000 has been equipped with the latest in Peltier Technology to achieve excellent heating and cooling rates. Also the software has been completely revised for improved user friendliness. The RotorGene is the first Real-time centrifugal thermal cycler using standard 0.2ml tube format! The samples are heated and cooled in an air chamber. The RotorGene collects fluorescent energy of each sample while spinning and is used to quantitate DNA and RNA copy number. The RotorGene detects point mutations using melt curve data.

Research Projects In The Henderson Laboratory Research themes (I) Molecular biology of programmed cell death in the mammalian CNS; (II) Molecular mechanisms of neural target innervation; (III) Molecular therapeutics aimed at enhancing motor neuron function. http://www.phm.utoronto.ca/~jeffh/research.htm
Extractions: Members of the caspase family of aspartate proteases have been shown to be a requisite part of the pathway of programmed cell death in a number of acute and chronic forms of neural injury in vivo. Consistent with this, inhibition of caspase function has been shown to confer protection from both developmental and injury-induced PCD in a number of cell types including neurons. In order to assess the therapeutic potential of caspase inhibition with respect to mammalian CNS injury, we are examining the injury response of CNS neurons in genetically modified caspase null murine mutants in vivo to several forms of traumatic neural injury. In addition, these null mutants allow the relative contribution of caspase family members to developmental and neuronal death to be established. Past projects:

Extractions: Amino acids The biology of the cell Selected by the sciLINKS program There is not one cell , but many different types of cells . Cells are like people. Look around you and you will see that everyone has their own job. Cells are the same. They all have their own job, and are therefore specialised. The theoretical plant cell used in these pages does not exist, it is just an example I created in order to show all the elements at once. Often, in a specialised cell, not all the elements are present, but some are numerous. We will see that when examining some examples of cells The elements of a cell, sorted by function
