Robin was six the first time he stood on ice. He was on holiday with his family in Bournemouth and they took him to an ice rink. He remembers twirling around and around and he just loved it, he doesn't remember falling. He was spotted by a coach who told him that an ice rink would be opening in Bristol the following year. He got skating lessons for Christmas and at the age of eight he started competing. At 12 years old he won his first national title. At the moment Robin is choreographer and director of Holiday On Ice's spectacular show. He has also choreographed several events including The Wizard of Oz on Ice and Toy Story on Ice that ran for seven successful years. Robin also choreographed Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express. Over 20 years ago Robin gave his Olympic Gold performance at Lake Placid. As well as winning the Olympic Gold Medal at Lake Placid in 1980, Robin Cousins won the World Free Skating Championship Gold Medal three times, along with the European Championship Gold. A highly successful career as a professional skater followed. He appeared as a special guest star with Holiday on Ice (when they set a box office record at Wembley Arena).
