As an escape clause to the deal, the Caps' pick would be returned to them should Yushkevich not be signed in that off-season. So the Caps got back their 7th when Yushkevich went to Russia to play again. His "rights" don't belong to anyone, but the Caps were the last team to own his contract. Last I heard the Leafs, Rangers and red wings were looking into the defenseman who is currently residing in florida. Frankly I hope Toronto gets him. He has been with toronto since 95, and was traded in the off season for svehla. He is loved in Toronto and he has said many times that he loves playing here so I really hope he returns. His contract also expires at the end of the season, so whoever gets him has a good chance of resigning him for a longer period of time at the end of the season.
