The squad joins its head coach, Charles Morrison, who was inducted in 1998. Atrill, McCarthy, and Pratt were Lake Forest's captains with McCarthy selected as its Most Valuable Player. Although contributions to the Foresters' success were spread throughout the team, John Handrahan was the statistical leader during the regular season with 32 goals and 35 assists. Atrill scored 31 times and added 20 assists while Bob Baldwin's 21 goals ranked third on the team. Brent Keeley was second in assists with 27 and Tim Rappleye third with 22. Fauteux was the primary goaltender throughout the year as the team outscored its regular season opponents 191-87. Extractions: Lorne Carr played 13 NHL seasons, starting with the New York Rangers, moving to the New York Americans and finishing as a Toronto Maple Leaf. Through 580 regular season games, Lorne scored 204 goals and added 222 assists for 426 points. (Imperial Oil-Turofsky/HHOF) Ninety-five year old Lorne Carr, to the best of our knowledge, is the oldest alumni of the National Hockey League wars. Born on July 2, 1910 in Stoughton, Saskatchewan, a small community just east of Weyburn and slightly north of Estevan, Lorne played two seasons of junior hockey with the Calgary Canadians prior to joining the New York Rangers for 14 games in 1933-34. Lorne joined the now defunct New York Americans the next season and starred with the team for seven seasons. In 1941-42, as the New York Americans were changing their name to the Brooklyn Americans, and as they went into their final season before permanently suspending operations, Carr was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs for the loan of Red Heron, Nick Knott, Gus Marker and cash. It was as a Maple Leaf that Lorne would enjoy his greatest professional hockey successes. In his first season in Toronto, 1941-42, the team won the Stanley Cup, defeating the Detroit Red Wings in the final after being down three games to none. Carr contributed both Leaf goals in Game Three, a 5-2 Toronto loss, but the line of Carr, Sweeney Schriner and Billy Taylor was on fire in that final, collecting 21 points in the seven games. In the Stanley Cup championship contest, Lorne Carr and Billy Taylor assisted on both goals by Sweeney Schriner in Toronto's 3-1 win that gave the franchise their miraculous Stanley Cup victory.

"We don't want you at the rink, we don't want you in the stadium, we don't want you to watch hockey,'' he said. Comments (1) Permanent Link Tuesday, May 17 I suck at baseball pools by Nicole on May 17, 2005 12:21AM (EDT) For a while there, I was really hopeful. This was going to be my year. But there I languish, in the basement (penultimate from the bottom, actually) for the second year running. Okay, sure it's still early. But Dog Ate My Homework (that's my team name don't ask) has been hit really hard by injuries and I'm just not sure we can recover. First, there was the dreaded Khalil Green mistake. (I dropped him like cheating boyfriend.) Now this.

TBLOG - RoyalRevival The royals will not eat salary on Mike sweeney.. because they don t view him asa sunk cost hockey s on strike and when I saw this pick I still thought. http://dyehardfan.tblog.com/
Extractions: I really need to work on my transitions.. I want to write how we should move Mike Sweeney NOW! His OPS is over .900 and he has at least shown that his wrist isn't a problem no matter how many times it gets drilled. But, his pricetag is too high and the Royals lack the vision to see what Mike Sweeney could be. The Royals look at Mike a lot differently than other teams: To other teams, Mike Sweeney is a boondoggle. His iffy back makes him a gamble in the extreme. He's an attractive hitter as a powerful righty who does not slump unless he is hurt. Unfortunately he seems to be hurt more and more often. A team like the Mets or Halos would kill for even 3 months of Sweeney's bat in their lineup at maybe 7 million per season.. But they won't bite at 12.5.. the bump that Sweeney gets in the event of a trade.
