Extractions: ACTIVE SPORT LOTTERY BID Durham County Hockey Association and Durham Hockey Clubs working with Durham Sport are the first in the Country to achieve Active Sports funding from the Lottery. Hockey will receive £26k in the next year to support development of junior players, coaches and umpires locally in the clubs and schools and also ensure a comprehensive development programme leading up to County level. To support and help organise the Hockey activity, an Activator will be employed (PT Hockey Development Officer) to ensure delivery of the activity and plan for the future. Well done to all involved. To update on the other Counties progress with Active Sports, the Tyne and Wear Lottery bid is currently being assessed by the Lottery, Cumbria Hockey will start planning in September and Northumberland and Teeside will be online next year. Extractions: A lot has been going on at Kettering and at our shelter since the last update in February. Over this last spring term we saw a new set of leadership come into the house. Jeremy Baker, aka Sunshine, is our new President. Shane Finneran is our new Administrative Vice-President, and Brendan Morse is the Executive Vice-President. Serving as GMT Vice-President is Kyle Leopold. We look forward to seeing how these guys serve the house, and are very excited at year ahead of us. We have Rush in the fall and initiation in the spring, we have to take back our top spot in grades and establish our place in the Greek Cup running so we can reclaim our title! And possibly the biggest change the current membership has seen is that Kettering has a new president, Dr. Liberty. Hopefully he'll continue and expand on all the good work that Dr. John has done.
