The 6-foot-6, 218 pound Pronger was the second overall pick of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, selected by the Hartford Whalers, with whom he spent the 1993-94 and '94-'95 seasons, before playing the last nine with the Blues. He's scored 400 points (with 94 goals, 306 assists) in 722 career games. Pronger's laundry list of accomplishments include being named league MVP in 2000, Blues team captain (1997-98, 1999-2000), playing in the NHL All-Star game (1999, 2000) and winning the James Norris Memorial Trophy (1999-2000), along with the CHL Top Defenseman Award and Max Kaminsky Award (1992-93). As the fifth pick of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Eric Brewer (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) first laced up for the New York Islanders. He then moved on to the Oilers, where he spent the last four years. During Brewer's six years in the NHL, he racked up 113 points (34 goals, 79 assists) in 404 career games, and was a 2003 NHL All-Star.
