The 33-year-old rugged left winger had five goals, six assists and 137 penalty minutes in 70 games with the Canucks during the 2003-04 season. He joins a Colorado team that lost two of its best players, Peter Forsberg and Adam Foote, this week to free agency. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for the guys on this roster and I'm looking forward to playing with them," May said. "This is going to be a very competitive division, one that could be the most exciting in the NHL." May, who had two stints in Vancouver, played his first seven seasons with the Buffalo Sabres. He was with the Phoenix Coyotes for three seasons in between stops with the Canucks.
