Extractions: March 26, 2005 I have watched, played and coached a lot of hockey in the past month. The team I coach played in Duluth, Minnesota in a tournament and came in second place. They played well. They also competed in the Minnesota Womens State Tournament and after an initial loss, won three straight games to capture third place. A nice job on their part especially since they were short players. http://www.kirchtech.com/MallardsHockey.html My team had a double header last weekend, with a game on Saturday and Sunday. We beat a team we had lost to twice during the season, 6-1 (we out shot them 38-18) and then we lost to stronger team 4-1 (they out shot us 34-24). If we win our last regular season game, we would make the play-offs. I watched the WCHA Final Five Tournament which was won by Denver over Colorado College. Our local team, the Minnesota Golden Gophers came in fourthbut still received a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament (that mysterious R.P.I. strikes again!). Their first game is against Maine. The local womens team, the Minnesota Womens Golden Gophers won their WCHA Tournament and is still ranked No. 1 in Womens hockey. They play in the semi-finals of the Womens Final Four against Dartmouth . Go Gophers!
