Laettner christian laettner s stomp of the Kentucky player was just a love tap. game which ESPN designated the number one college basketball game of alltime. http://www.ukfans.net/jps/uk/laettner.html
Extractions: The Facts During the East Regional Final in Philadelphia, Number 1 seeded, defending champion and tournament favorite Duke University played Kentucky. Although UK was a number 2 seed, they were thoroughly outmanned and thought to not be a problem for the mighty Blue Devils. What happened instead, was a marvelously played and memorable game which ESPN designated the number one college basketball game of all-time. During the second half of the game, Christian Laettner, the player of the year and sole collegiate member of the US Olympic team, took his foot and stepped on freshman Aminu Timberlake after a dead ball. A technical foul was called on Laettner. Later, Laettner won the game in overtime with a last second shot. When asked about the incident after the game, Laettner first tried to come up with the excuse that he was simply trying to find his balance. A claim which is completely ludicrous to anyone who witnessed the replay. Beyond that, Laettner and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski even tried to use the fact that Kentucky players reacted to the situation with class and discresion to downplay the potential seriousness of the action.

Until we get that necessary perspective, these remain the top moments in NCAA tournament history. Connecticut was 1.6 seconds away from suffering one of the most crushing defeats in tourney history after blowing a 20-point lead against Clemson in their 1990 Sweet 16 game. Enter strong-armed Scott Burrell (drafted by the Blue Jays as a pitcher) and clutch Tate George. Photo Gallery... Top tourney moments Users respond ... Which moments we missed It was Grant Hill-to-Christian Laettner (see #1 below), only the pass had to travel 15 feet farther and the recipient had half-a-second less with which to catch and shoot. Burrell threw the perfect bomb and George caught, turned and fired, getting an amazingly good look on the game-winning baseline jumper from the right corner. The euphoria was short-lived as Laettner himself would bury the Huskies at the buzzer of their regional final.

Extractions: T. Rex's Guide to Life Sports Men's College Basketball On this page I will be recounting my personal memories related to Men's College Basketball. - (7.30.03): I've only attended a few Division I college basketball games, but I've attended a lot of major community college basketball games - games with players that went on to star for Division I teams (like Jason Cipolla, Bootsy Thorton, Kerry Thompson). I actually went to a lot of women's college basketball games as well, particularly since I used to have a crush on the cute blond back-up point guard on TCC's team. postCount('cmbbmemory3'); postCountTB('cmbbmemory3'); - (2.4.03): My favorite college basketball moment actually came when I was camping in the woods. It was the famous Duke-Kentucky game where Christian Laettner beats Kentucky on the turn around jumper to make it to the Final. We were on a youth group camping trip and we were watching the game on a extremely tiny black and white television that had to be plugged into the car to work. postCount('cmbbmemory2');
