Folks in Houston saw him as talented but lazy and uninspired. The Rockets tried to trade him in 1994 to the Pistons, a deal that was quashed by Sean Elliott's kidney condition. Two seasons later, Houston finally sent Horry to Phoenix as part of the Charles Barkley trade, and it did not take long for Horry to make himself unwanted again. He did not like the trade. He did not like Suns coach Danny Ainge, who was trying in vain to get his team to learn the triangle offense.

PPPS: Reviews Of NC Sports Books For basketball aficionados, it is an excellent addition to their library. Rapoport, ron. See How She Runs Marion Jones and the Making of a Champion. http://www.unc.edu/depts/ppps/reviews/
Extractions: The history of the Atlantic Coast Conference, perhaps the premier basketball conference in the country, is featured in this work. The outstanding players and coaches who have participated in the ACC are well documented. Legends, great sporting feats, and playoffs are covered in depth. The book is an ambitious attempt to capture more than four decades of the ACC. It is an excellent overview, but there are other books dealing with basketball in North Carolina which are equally as successful. For basketball aficionados, it is an excellent addition to their library. Coach K, Building the Duke Dynasty

But realistically, the players who left college before the formation of the American Basketball League and American Basketball Association in the 1960s had two three options: The National Basketball League, the Eastern League or AAU basketball. AAU basketball was attractive to many players for two important reasons, first, for those who wished to remain eligible for the Olympics, they were able to maintain their amateur status. Second, for players looking to earn a living, many teams were sponsored by corporations which provided jobs to the players on their teams. Top players who played AAU basketball at one point in their career include Ace Gruenig, Jack McCracken, Bob Kurland, Clyde Lovellette, Jim Pollard, Don Barksdale, Richie Guerin, Andy Phillip, Burdie Haldorson, Hank Luisetti, Kenny Sailors, Vince Boryla, Burdie Haldorson, Cazzie Russell, K.C.
