The seventh seeded Scotties showed unbelievable effort and perseverance rallying from a 14 point deficit late in the second half. With 39 seconds remaining and the score tied at 78, Highland had the ball with a chance to take the lead but on offensive foul turned the ball over to Seward. Seward made free throws late and iced the game to move on to the Region VI quarterfinals versus Neosho Co. Wesley Kitt had the best scoring game in the Jayhawk Conference all season pouring in 41 points. Highland ended the season with a 8-23 record.
