Extractions: ============================================================================= Name: Shawn Respert More Poop: A problem for Respert is that he was measured at 6' 1.5" not 6-3. He has never played PG at any level and 6'1" shooting guards are rare. He still has a lot of skills and should be a lottery pick but this will hurt him some. Scout: Craig Simpson ============================================================================= Name: Bob Sura ============================================================================= Name: Michael Finley More Poop: Finley had a great Desert Classic averaging 17.5 points and 6 rebounds. Scout: Craig Simpson ============================================================================= Name: Lawrence Moten ============================================================================= Name: Tom Kleinschmidt ============================================================================= Name: Donald Williams ============================================================================= Name: Scotty Thurman More Poop: Thurman will always be remembered as the guy who hit "the shot" that sank Duke in the 1994 NCAA tournament. It was just one of the many clutch shots that Thurman hit throughout his career at Arkansas. Thurman is a tremendous shooter, certainly one that can hit the NBA 3 with ease and beyond. He is a very smooth player and is able to create his own shot. A concern with Thurman is that he does suffer from being a "tweener" i.e. perhaps too small for a SF, and not quick enough to be a SG. He may not be quick enough to guard some of the faster SGs in the NBA. But at 6-7, he does have good size for the SG spot. Thurman might just be at this point a poor man's Reggie Miller he even has the trash talking down and he may even match Reggie's range. Thurman could be as high as a mid 1st round pick, but likely is a late 1st rounder or 2nd round pick. Scout: Jazzy J

Something Out Of Nothing annoying basketball talk. Observations from the NBA playoffs I think BrentBarry is a vastly underrated guard and I actually like him more as a point http://www.somethingoutofnothing.net/archives2/000713.html
Extractions: Observations from the NBA playoffs: 1. How can you not like Jon Barry? I would have given my left arm to see him beat down Latrell Sprewell. Is it any coincidence that up-and-coming teams always seem to have this guy on their team? First, it was the Lakers before they started getting titles. Then it was the Kings just as they started to get good. Most recently it was the Pistons. This guy is money. He's slow, his offense is purely situational, but he's got the energy. And a bald head. However, if his past record is any indication, it also means that any team he's on is destined to be good, but ultimately doomed in the post season. 2. Speaking of which, if your team is sort of interesting (ie, plays a loose, offensive style, is making its first playoff appearance in some time, has a talented but unproven team), it has zero chance of advancing. See aforementioned Kings, any number of Phoenix Suns teams, Dallas Mavericks. 3. Seven game first round series is just a bad idea.
