Seattlepi.com Mariners Blog: Omar's Health At 33 you have seen the best of eric owens already, and it wasn t very good.Dave Hansen is an adequate PH, but eric owens should be out of baseball. http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/baseball/archives/001496.html
Extractions: Main Here is an interesting tidbit from the Akron Beacon Journal regarding Omar Vizquel's health: "I think it's a comfort level,'' Indians trainer Lonnie Soloff said of Seattle's decision to nix the deal. "We're comfortable with what Omar has done. I can't really speak to Seattle's decision. I'm not sure what their doctors' objections were. Omar feels good.'' So, did the Mariners not make the Vizquel-for-Guillen trade because of his health or because they realized it may not have been a good move? I guess we'll never know. Extractions: NEXT ACTION: Northern Illinois vs. Western Michigan (April 9-11) NIU Baseball Splits Double-Header With UW-Milwaukee, Simon Grand Slam Paces Game-Two Win Josh Goodwin struck out three in 2.1 innings of work to get the win. With the decision, Goodwin improved to 2-0 on the year. The Huskies were victimized by a terrific pitching performance in game one. Perfect through 6.0 innings of a seven-inning contest, UW-Milwaukee starter Ben Stanczyk nearly saw a career outing slip away thanks to a seventh-inning rally by the Huskies. From that point on, the contest turned into a pitching dual between Stancyk and the NIU trio of Matt Steiger, Jeff Hall and Nathan Stillwell, and until the bottom of the seventh, no one budged.

"That's a good one, right off the bat. I think most people would expect me to say running out on to Turner Field and to throw in my first big league game. But, the way my career has gone since then, and the fact that I'm here and trying to get back there, I wouldn't exactly call it my greatest moment. I don't really consider getting to the big leagues an accomplishment, I consider staying there for an extended period of time the accomplishment. I would have to say in terms of most memorable moment, though, it would have to be that.
