Juan Gonzalez had 35 in April and 101 at the allstar break enroute to finshing with 157 in 1998. Big Mac had 36 by the "end" of April in 98, but 4 were on March 31st when he hit a grandslam, so he had 32 in the month of April 98. I image that alot of you will agree with me that there isn't a list of this around (month by month in a season). The only time I see some of this popping up is if someone occasionally hit's the 40 mark and that stirs up some old names by the historians.

We got a starting second baseman early, which is good, but may have been losing out on Kent (who was a possibility). We missed out on a couple of starters, (which I'm not so sure that we needed) and we gained a third baseman (who I'm also not so sure that we needed). My question is this: we seem to be a little lop-sided, so where do we stand here? Grady has already said that Tim will be our #3 guy, and it's assumed that Casey and John will be 4th and 5th, with no particular order being critical. Should a trade go down for another starter, Fossum will likely take the #5 spot, allowing this starter to come in 4th, putting Burkett down with the Rupe/Castillo/Lyon group. These four will likely be our "closer by committee". Embree can strikout just about anyone, when he's healthy (I see him being healthy this year), Fox can eat up innings (80+ appearances two years ago), and Mendoza/Timlin specialize in double-play inducing sinkers. These four will likely come in a different critical points in the game (not being reserved to the nineth inning).
