Extractions: ALAMEDA (AP): The Raiders completed their special teams makeover Sunday when they cut punter Leo Araguz, kicker Joe Nedney and six other players to get down to the 53-player limit. Araguz was the team's punter the past three seasons but was beaten out for the job by rookie Shane Lechler, the NCAA record-holder for career punting average. Likewise, Nedney was signed by Oakland late last year and even kicked the game-winning field goal in the season-ending win over Kansas City. But Oakland took Sebastian Janikowski in the first round of the NFL draft, making Nedney expendable. The Raiders also released wide receivers Kenny Shedd, Marcus Knight and Rodney Williams, safety Je'Rod Cherry, tight end Derrick Walker, linebacker Sam Sword and running back Jerald Moore, their leading rusher in the preseason. In addition, Oakland traded defensive tackle Chuck Osborne to the Green Bay Packers and offensive lineman Gennaro DiNapoli to the Tennessee Titans. Both trades were for undisclosed draft picks. Oakland's opening-day roster will be decidedly different than it was a year ago, with 22 players that were not with the team in 1999.

NFL Scouting Combine Notebook: Robinson Reclamation Continues a meeting with president of football operations Tim Ruskell and Holmgren once Veteran punter leo araguz has been signed at the urging of new special http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/football/213807_hbok28.html
Extractions: SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER INDIANAPOLIS The Koren Robinson reclamation project continues. The Seahawks' talented-but-troubled wide receiver recently completed a 30-day alcohol-abuse program at a rehabilitation center, according to several sources that are attending the NFL scouting combine. Coach Mike Holmgren alluded to Robinson "taking care of some personal stuff," without further explanation, during his season-ending news conference. The next step in determining Robinson's status in Seattle will be a meeting with president of football operations Tim Ruskell and Holmgren once they return from the combine. Robinson missed six of the team's final seven regular-season games last season four for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy and two for breaking team rules.
