Extractions: document.write(navigation) The enclosed images represent a lot of work from many eager high school students during the past years. Students and teachers at EUC Syd and Amtsgymnasiet in Sonderborg have cooperated on astronomy since 1989. As a result, several projects have been completed, including a full operated 16 Inch SCT Observatory with dome . Thanks to a 24 hour working, homebuild magnetometer, auroras have been observed during more than 50 nights. On this page we present a few of these Aurora Images , taken by means of standard photographical equipment. In addition - the Mads Clausen Foundation, the Bodil Petersen Foundation, the Thomas B. Thrige Foundation - and the Tuborg Foundation have donated us a complete computerbased deep cooled grade 1 CCD camera system. The Apogee AP6 camera itself has 1 Mio Pixels - and is combined with a cooling booster and high speed ISA Frame Grab Bus card . As our student images below demonstrate this equipment simply runs marvellous. Image processing has been performed applying Cyanogen CCDMAX

Astronomy By Rob Johnson Contains images, Mel bartel's scope drive, night time weather statistics, gas hypering, deepsky images, and freeware. http://www.fornax.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
Extractions: Most of my images are taken with a 14" f5.2 Newtonian reflector from my home in Liverpool, England, using a Starlight Xpress CCD camera. My location is heavily light polluted and so I have used different filtration methods to achieve good quality images. The CCD can be used without filters and longer exposures to overcome light pollution and still produce quality images.

Video Astronomy Solar, lunar and planetary video astrophotography images along with an extensive links page and some howto instructions on video astronomy. http://www.lafterhall.com/astro.html
Extractions: Planetary images with Supercircuits' low light video surveillance camera head, the PC164C, which uses a very sensitive Sony Super HAD EXview CCD video chip. The extreme sensitivity of the camera, rated at 0.0003 lux, allows the use of larger image scale when imaging the planets resulting in higher resolution images. A 25cm Newtonian @ f/30 was used to image Saturn and a 15cm Maksutov-Cassegrain at f/50 for Jupiter. VIDEO CAPTURE ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY 15cm Maksutov-Cassegrain @ f/20 Astrovid 2000 As seeing conditions at my suburban home in Livermore, California are always turbulent I have adopted the use of video for my astrophotography. From the very first images made back in 1999, I was producing results several orders of magnitude better than the best film photos I had ever taken of the moon and planets through a scope.
A Gallery Of Mark McCaughrean S Astronomical Images A gallery of Mark McCaughrean s astronomical images. This is a gallery of variousastronomical images, but unlike most such gingerbread men (or http://www.aip.de/~mjm/Astronomy/ImageGallery.html
Extractions: This is a gallery of various astronomical images, but unlike most such gingerbread men (or cookie-cutter, for our North American friends) collections you'll find on the web, all of these are original images from my own work, many of them not published elsewhere (to my continued shame). They are mostly taken at near-infrared wavelengths, but also there are also some optical-wavelength images from the Hubble Space Telescope, and so on. Despite the fact that each image is signed with my name (it's not just vanity, honest; see below), most of them come from work done in collaboration with other people, and the appropriate credits are given in the text caption given next to each image, along with details of where the data were taken, the field-of-view covered, and so on. If you copy an image for purely private use, I request that you also carry the caption along too, to make clear the origin and ownership of the image. For absolutely any other use, any public display, use in a talk (academic or otherwise), publication in a book (commercial or otherwise), and so on, you must read and contact me.
